Lyme Disease is a complex infection caused by bacteria transmitted from a tick or insect bite. Overall, up to 300,000 Americans are diagnosed with Lyme every year according to the Centers of Disease Control (CDC).
As the bacteria spreads throughout the human bloodstream it settles in various body issues and perpetuates severe headaches, painful arthritis and joint swelling, cardiac abnormalities, and a slew of other health issues. If diagnosed and treated early with antibiotics, Lyme disease can clear relatively quickly. However, due to the rapid rate of the disease’s progression and varying individual responses, it can be difficult to diagnose. There are discrepancies for Lyme disease testing as well that can add up to a problem of misdiagnosis.
Unfortunately, symptoms can linger for months or years, and ultimately develop into a chronic condition.
Although there exist conflicting opinions on the level of gravitas surrounding Lyme disease within the medical community, experts agree nutrition is the key element in healing. Come hear Dr. Heyman discuss the diets, vitamins, herbs and essential oils that can reduce symptoms, strengthen the immune system, and potentially treat the entire illness.
