Michael Schoenwalder, DO, FAARFM, ABAARM

  Dr. Schoenwalder has been a practicing, Board Certified Internal Medicine Physician since 2005. He received his Doctor of Osteopathic Medical degree from Des Moines University in 2002 finishing third in his graduating class.  He completed his Internal Medicine Residency at Mercy Hospital in St. Louis in 2005.  There he was voted Resident of the Year in 2003 and 2004.  From 2012-2013, he attended the University of Southern Florida for Functional/Preventative Medicine.  In 2013, he became Board Certified in Functional/Preventative Medicine.  He routinely maintains his credentials and certifications with various continuing education programs.

  Dr. Schoenwalder was born and raised in St. Louis.  He graduated from Chaminade College Preparatory and received his undergraduate degree from Missouri State University graduating summa cum laude.  He is blessed to have a supportive wife, Maureen.  Together they have four children – Justin, Jacob, Joshua and Josie. In his free time, he is actively involved with his Church.  He enjoys spending quality time with his wife and kids.  He loves family vacations especially to Disney and coaching his kids’ sports teams.   Lastly, he loves his early morning workouts of P90X and Insanity (all versions!)

  He owes all his success in life to his faith in God and his supportive family.   He has built his medical career on a couple key values – treat a patient like he would want his wife or mother to be treated and never let the title of “Doctor” make him anymore important.  Because of these values, he has developed great friendships with his patients over the years.  He is more commonly known as Mike or Dr. Mike than Dr. Schoenwalder and prefers it this way.   He loves the lasting relationships he has developed over the years with his patients and is looking forward to continuing those relationships at his new location.
