Makenzie, MS, LAT, ATC is a certified and licensed athletic trainer in Michigan and Florida. She received her Master of Science in Sports Medicine from the University of Virginia. In addition, she has a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy, Applied and Ethics based and a Minor in Biomedical Sciences from Western Michigan University. She was a Division 1 soccer goalkeeper, captain, and Bronco Award winner for selfless leadership. While at UVA, Makenzie worked with the 7-time national championship Men’s Soccer Program, completed her thesis on wearable technology, specifically how to use internal and external load monitoring for injury prevention, return to activity, and performance. She also studied in the clinic and operating rooms for UVA Orthopedic Surgery.
Makenzie founded RÖRE Method to be the vehicle for change in the movement and fitness industry. Movement is an aspect of medicine. Thus, the industry should operate around each person’s unique needs, makeup, and goals. Makenzie not only wants you to look your best, but more importantly she wants you to feel your best. She was introduced to functional medicine and movement science after sustaining multiple injuries during her soccer career. Through her own medical journey and subsequent studies, she realized the importance of evaluating and treating the whole person. Her mission is to better understand each client’s medical history, biomechanics, and lifestyle to create a fully personalized training, nutrition, mindfulness, and recovery program. Her mission is backed by her high ethical and sustainability standards for her clients, community, and the planet.
Makenzie specializes in providing programing to those with underlying injuries or illnesses, pregnant women, aging populations, youth, and elite athletes. She loves discovering and implementing the latest in technology, research, biomechanics, biohacking, functional medicine, and movement.
