Dhesan Moodley, MD, MBChB, MBA
Dhesan is a board certified physician in South Africa with over 30 years of experience in health care. He is a specialist in Anti-aging Medicine having completed his Masters in Metabolic and Nutritional Medicine through the world renowned Morsani School of Medicine at the University of South Florida and the global Metabolic Medical Institute. He is one of the few doctors in South Africa who has attained this degree of specialization in the field of Functional and Integrative Medicine. Early in his career he worked in family medicine and sports medicine. This experience has held him in good stead as a specialist in Anti-aging, Functional and Regenerative medicine, and the management of common chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular disease, hormonal imbalances and weight management.
Over the years, Dhesan has worked in the public and private health sectors as a clinician as well as a healthcare advisor to hospital groups, medical insurance companies and pharmaceutical companies. He has held several board positions for leading companies, including being Chairman of the Board of Trustees for South Africa’s largest medical insurance, Discovery Health Medical Scheme where he currently serves as a trustee.
He holds the following formal qualifications: Masters in Metabolic and Nutritional Medicine, Master in Sports Medicine, MBChB (Medical Doctor), and Masters in Business Administration.
