Dr. Pamela Hughes, DO, ABAARM, ABFM
Dr. Pamela Hughes, DO is extremely excited to embark on the adventure of a lifetime as she acquires the Perlmutter Health Center and continues more than twenty years of tradition and passion for medicine for the next twenty years.
Dr. Hughes is a native of northeast Pennsylvania. She received her B.S. from Juniata College as well as played collegiate volleyball for a nationally ranked team. She then attended The Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, graduating in 1999.
Dr. Hughes is a firm believer in evidence-based, researched medicine. She knows that combining research with the results we see clinically everyday is what perpetuates her practice. She is Functional Medicine trained with the Metabolic Medical Institute and the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine.
Dr. Hughes believes that every person sitting with her is an “N=1.” Every one of us has a unique footprint that stems from genetics, lifestyle choices, toxic exposures, and stress on the body, both mental and physical. She knows that not everyone reads the textbook, and not everyone responds the same to the body burdens or treatments used to reverse them. By working with you, she can locate your triggers, your risk factors, and attempt to mitigate and remove the burdens that might soon overwhelm your body and lead to disease. She also knows sometimes illnesses cannot be reversed based on all that science currently offers, but that does not mean we cannot try! Dr. Hughes will work with you to reach your goals and find optimum health. Teamwork is the key ingredient to discovering your path to true balance
