Dr. David Lans is the Medical Director Integrative Rheumatology of Westchester, located in New Rochelle, New York. He specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of rheumatologic, immunologic and musculoskeletal disorders, as well as functional and regenerative medicine, including bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT), preventive and nutritional medicine. Dr. Lans also offers stem cell, PRP, and peptide therapeutics programs.
Dr. Lans has been practicing Internal Medicine and Rheumatology for over 30 years. As an osteopathic physician, Dr. Lans has always embraced integrative and holistic concepts and is believes strongly in individualized patient care. Traditional medicine tends to focus on a "disease" paradigm, in which the diagnosis and treatment of symptoms is the primary emphasis. Alternatively, Dr. Lans has chosen to focus on understanding the causes of physiologic dysfunction and disease prevention. After fellowship study with the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine, Dr. Lans now integrates his traditional training with proactive wellness, metabolic and preventive medicine. As we age, we wish not only to prevent disease but also to live active, vibrant lives. Dr. Lans is committed to helping people achieve these goals.
Dr. Lans graduated from Brandeis University and completed Medical School at Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery. He then completed his Medical Residency at SUNY Downstate Medical Center, where he served as Chief Medical Resident. He completed Fellowship training in Allergy and Immunology at Tufts University, followed by a Rheumatology Fellowship at The Hospital for Special Surgery in New York. He is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at New York Medical College and the Chief of Rheumatology at New York-Presbyterian /Lawrence Hospital in Bronxville, New York. He is Board certified in Internal Medicine, Allergy and Immunology, and Rheumatology and is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians.
