I am a Family Physician in practice for 26 years. After graduating from medical school in New Delhi, India, I pursued a residency in Family Medicine and a Post- Doctoral Fellowship in Family Medicine, Preventive & Community Medicine from Baylor College of Medicine, Houston. Although I was in a multispecialty group practicing traditional Family Medicine, I was challenged by my patients who were interested in non-pharmaceutical, herbal or nutraceutical agents’, alternative therapies in the healing process. This ignited my passion in learning the systems biology approach to medicine – looking at the patient holistically.
Not too long thereafter I joined A4M and became a Diplomat and an Advanced Fellow. I started my independent practice 10 years ago. My approach in helping patients was a life altering transformation for me, with emphasis on lifestyle, micronutrients, gut health, food allergies, brain health, inflammation, toxins, and correcting imbalances in hormones or neurotransmitters, thereby truly exploring the causes in prevention of chronic disease states. It has been an enjoyable, passionate journey and the ambers continue to glow. The future is bright and I embrace this approach without reservation.
On a personal note, being married and having 2 teenage daughters, gives a special meaning to my life. I enjoy their company and often travel together as time permits.
