Description

Dr Smith was born and raised in Philadelphia Pennsylvania. He attended Arcadia University (formerly Beaver College) and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Chemistry. He received his Medical Degree from Ross University School of Medicine. During his medical school experience he decided to enter the research arena in medicine before entering a clinical residency. At the Duke University Medical Center in the Division of Plastic Surgery in Durham N.C. he was a Research Fellow, studying wound healing and angiogenesis in treating burn patients. His landmark article was published without revision in the Journal of Surgical Research. He was then recruited to become the Director of Research of Plastic Surgery at the Department of Surgery at the Temple University University School of Medicine in Philadelphia PA. He published in various medical journals and received several research awards from various sources.

He then performed his post graduate medical clinical training at the following medical centers: Memorial Medical Systems, in Savannah Georgia where he was a surgical resident. In the middle of his first year he decided to switch specialties and performed his Anesthesiology Residency training at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center located in Nashville Tennessee and the University of Miami Jackson Memorial Hospital System located in Miami, Florida. During his four years of Anesthesiology Residency he also “moon-lighted “throughout the U.S. as an Emergency Room Physician.

He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Anesthesiology and became Board Certified Expert in Anesthesiology by the State of Israel. He held faculty appointments as a Clinical Assistant Professor in Anesthesiology at the University of Florida Shand’s at Jacksonville, University of Central Florida School of Medicine as well as Rambam Medical Center located in Haifa Israel. His practice was in Cardiac Anesthesiology as well as others areas of Anesthesiology including Pain Medicine. He was also nominated to be an Oral Board Examiner for the American Board of Anesthesiology.

After close to 33 years from graduating from medical school and recently retiring from 28 years in practicing Anesthesiology he has now entered the area of Anti-Aging, Integrative and Rejuvenation Medicine. He has completed a lengthly Fellowship and has successfully passed both the written and oral board examination process in this area of medicine.

He continues to maintain his Certification in Anesthesiology as well as in Anti-aging Integrative Medicine.

He is licensed to practice medicine in the following states: Florida, Arizona, Georgia, Hawaii, North and South Carolina.
