Sonia Ruiz
Dr. Ruiz was born in San Juan Puerto Rico. She attended Marywood College in Scranton, Pennsylvania and received a Master's Degree in Nutrition from Michigan State University. For three years she held the title of Director of the Expanded Nutrition Program in Kent County, for Michigan State Unviersity Cooperative Extension Service.
She was directly responsible for teaching nutrition to under-priviledged famlies. Later, Ms. Ruiz attended Ponce School of Medicine in Puerto Rico. Her residency was well-rounded. She trained at Polyclinic Medical Center in Harrisburg, PA and All Children's Hospital in St. Petersburg, FL.
She has worked with the Pinellas County Health Department and the Ruskin Health Center and has written extensively about health and nutrition and family medicine.
