Today's episode on Redefining Medicine spotlights Tamara Lyday, DO. "As an integrative healer and functional medicine practitioner, I believe the patient and I form a team, working together in partnership on the body, mind and spirit in order to achieve optimal health. I wish to help individuals consciously pursue the best life possible through achievement of balance in all areas of life including the physical, emotional, mental, social and spiritual aspects of the human experience. I believe this convergence results in a dynamic state of being fully alive and present in each moment regardless of the presence or absence of disease states. This process creates true health."

Dr. Lyday earned her medical degree from Des Moines University in Iowa and completed a residency in family medicine at Hinsdale Hospital; Hinsdale, Ill. Board certified in family medicine, she also completed fellowships in wound care and hyperbaric medicine and certifications in acupuncture, holistic nutrition and plant-based nutrition. Currently, Dr. Lyday is pursuing a fellowship in integrative medicine and certification in functional medicine.
