The Microbiome Learning Lab
  • Gut microbial ecology
  • Barrier integrity
  • LPS & metabolic endotoxemia
  • The spectrum of biotics
  • Gut–liver–heart axis
  • Gut–brain connection
  • Women’s microbiome health
  • Clinical case studies

From microbial ecology to the exam room, in three modules.

A foundational, multi-module journey through microbiome science — from gut–organ crosstalk and the spectrum of biotics to the gut–liver–heart axis, the gut–brain connection, women’s microbiome health, and real-world clinical application.

Each module builds on the one before it. Module I covers the core science, Module II looks at how the gut affects other organ systems, and Module III applies both to clinical cases. Learn on your own schedule, entirely online.

Modules

Three modules, one progression

Start with the science, follow it through the body, then apply it in clinical practice.

Module I

Microbiome foundations

The scientific baseline

0.75 CME hours

This module sets the scientific baseline, covering gut microbial ecology, host–microbe interactions, barrier integrity, LPS/metabolic endotoxemia, and the full spectrum of biotics (prebiotics, probiotics, spores, commensals, keystone species, and postbiotics).

Module II

Theater of activity

Systems and axes

2 CME hours

This module takes a deep dive into how the gut communicates across organ systems, with a focus on cardiometabolic health, neurological function, and women’s health.

Module III

Microbiome Labs in the real world

Clinical applications

Non-CME

This module translates the science into real-world clinical protocols, including practical case studies with an emphasis on women’s health applications.
