Mary Rutherford, MD

Dr. Molly Rutherford is a family doctor and addiction specialist practicing in Kentucky and licensed in several states. She started her own direct care practice, Bluegrass Family Wellness, in 2015 and continues to offer primary care and addiction treatment as well as functional medicine provided by 2 part time NPs. Prior to medical school, while working at the NIAID in Bethesda, Maryland she completed a Masters in Public Health at Johns Hopkins University, studying epidemiology and health policy. After completing residency in 2006 in Portsmouth, Virginia, she and her husband Chris relocated to Kentucky, where they continue to raise 2 sons, 3 dogs, a cat, and 5 chickens. Molly attributes her success in business ownership to her decision to follow Christ. She was baptized on December 20, 2015. During the pandemic, she was able to dispense off label meds directly to her patients, and she worked part time offering treatment by telemedicine with My Free Doctor starting in November 2020.
