Retired from a career in surgical oncology, I focus my practice on providing patients with data-driven solutions which allow them to position themselves for a robust life in middle age and to make the changes necessary to extend their vigorous lifestyle into older age as well. As the medical director and co-founder of Horizon Longevity I recognized that fitness as it applies to living long and well has a particular signature, and a set of metrics that distinguish it from other forms of fitness. Our Horizon Longevity patients undergo extensive biometric testing with an extensive battery of actionable blood tests, DEXA scans, and metabolic testing such as VO2 Max and Resting Energy Expenditure analysis as part of our Foundation Experience. With a deep dive consultation, such information may be enough for many patients to craft their own paths forward. Others will wish to commit to a 6-month relationship with intense focus on creating favorable biometrics and altering life habits to forge a longevity plan with our assistance and in association with our aligned therapist, nutrtionists, and coaches, both in person and remotely. The Horizon 360 Experience includes all that, other tests such for atherosclerosis, cognitive testing, and occult malignancies. At the end of the 6-month subscription, re-testing is performed to assess gains and trouble spots.
As a surgical oncologist whose practice was heavily weighted toward breast and endocrine tumors, managing hormones has been a lifelong feature. I am a NAMS-certified menopause practitioner and help both men and women through midlife changes in their hormonal milieus.
Central to healthy aging for all of our patients is assistance with mitochondrial dysfunction, disordered nutritional signaling, inflammation, medical weight control and maintenance of muscularity as we age.
I am a graduate of Boston University School of Medicine, trained in General Surgery at The Maine Medical Center, and performed a surgical oncology fellowship at the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. I am a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, the Society of Surgical Oncology, and a member of the North American Menopause Society.
