Keith Berndtson, MD, is a graduate of Rush Medical College. He finished his family medicine residency in 1985 and practiced primary care until 2007, when he founded Park Ridge Multimed a Chicago-area medical practice focused on the evaluation and management of chronic illnesses that persisted despite excellent medical care. Since 2007 he has evaluated and helped over 7,000 patients who have traveled from 41 states and 6 countries.

He completed a Lyme disease training program sponsored by the Tick-Borne Disease Alliance in 2012. His peer-reviewed article on evidence for immune evasion and persistent infection in Lyme disease has been downloaded over 8,000 times and viewed over 54,000 times.

In 2013 he was certified to evaluate and treat patients with chronic inflammatory response syndrome using the protocols developed by Ritchie Shoemaker, MD. He is the lead author of a Consensus Statement titled, Medically Sound Investigation and Remediation of Water Damaged Buildings, presented at the 2nd International Conference on CIRS in Phoenix in November 2015, and is a respected thought leader on the subject of chronic inflammatory response syndrome acquired by exposure to water damaged buildings.
