Irina Tutunikov, DO, ABAARM

  Dr. Tutunikov is focusing on managing complex chronic conditions by augmenting conventional medicine with the best alternative therapies. While always striving to bring evidence-based, cutting-edge research findings into her clinical practice, she also believes in health management and health restoration through lifestyle changes.

  Dr. Tutunikov’s special interests are women’s health, bioidentical hormone replacement therapy for both women and men, nutritional approach to a range of chronic conditions, including infertility, PMDD, PCOS, treatment of obesity, acne, thyroid disease, cardio-vascular disease, autoimmunity, GI disturbances, anxiety, and depression. She utilizes the latest in advanced metabolic testing to look for the root causes of the diseases. While understanding the powerful capabilities and occasional need for modern pharmacology, she is also apprehensive of the potential powerful side effects and of the potential for incorrectly prescribed agents to simply mask the symptoms or even cause additional harm. In her armamentarium are  osteopathic manipulations, cranial therapy, trigger point injections, dry needling, comprehensive treatment of headaches, sports medicine and special nutrition for dancers and gymnasts; detoxification;  nutritional supplementation, including IM/IV vitamins and minerals; utilization of compounded pharmaceuticals, and special diets. With extensive knowledge of biomechanics and injuries pertinent to rhythmic gymnasts and dancers, Dr. Tutunikov takes particular interest in helping them to have long, successful careers through proper biomechanics, stress management, and nutrition.

  Dr. Tutunikov is a graduate of Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.  She completed Osteopathic Traditional Rotating Internship at Aria Health/PCOM, Philadelphia, followed by the residency in Internal Medicine at Presence St. Francis Hospital, affiliate of UIC. Dr. Tutunikov is Board Certified by American Board of Anti-Aging and Regenerative Medicine. She is a member of the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine and of the Institute for Functional Medicine.
