Description

Heather Flanagan has been practicing as a nurse practitioner since 2008 and she noticed traditional medicine was rushed, out of touch with the patient’s needs, and all too often focused on pharmaceuticals to mask symptoms rather than truly healing people with a disease.

Heather recognized the need for a healthcare practice that actively listens, focuses on each individual patient, and provides symptom relief while targeting the root cause of disease.

Heather struggled herself with debilitating fatigue, melasma, acid reflux, and mood swings. She was told repeatedly her labs were normal and was given suggestions for what prescriptions she could take. The answer to all of her concerns became clear when She searched for a better way to truly heal herself and found the School of Applied Functional Medicine. She began studying root cause disease management and understanding the fundamentals of true health in the body via functional medicine.

In just two years of healing Heather reversed her melasma, regained her energy, and completely resolved her acid reflux. She no longer suffers from the nasty mood swings that made her loved ones cringe. Heather felt if she healed herself she absolutely had to give the gift of functional medicine healing to others. In late 2020 Peak Total Health was born.

What is Functional Integrative Medicine? Functional medicine is treating the root cause of disease.
