Hormone-Wellness Practice Opportunity

Do you believe in health care over sick care? This is an opportunity to join a thriving Hormone, Wellness and Sexual Wellness Clinic in warm, sunny Orlando, Florida, specifically in the Dr. Phillips area which is very close to the exclusive neighborhoods of Windermere and Bay Hill and all of the Orlando Theme Parks. We have been building this clinic now for over 5 years. Despite adding a third provider in April, this practice is again approaching load capacity and we are going to need help in the very near future.

The team at FCHW is looking for a motivated, independent, well-educated Nurse Practitioner (however, I will consider a Physician Assistant if the fit seems right) We would prefer specific training in Hormone Therapy, however, we are willing to invest the time and expense to get the right provider trained to fit within our style and philosophy of practice. Ideally, the candidate will have been trained by WorldLink Medical (Neal Rouzier - at least Modules 1 and 2), however, a strong hormone background will also be considered. Training by the American Academy of Anti-aging and Aesthetic Medicine, The Institute for Functional Medicine or the Age Management Medical Group is preferred as it is important for the practitioner to have a functional medicine mindset. In addition, it is important that the candidate be familiar with areas of wellness medicine such as: weight, nutrition, sexual wellness, sleep, micronutrients, autoimmune thyroid, and similar wellness areas.

The Florida Center for Hormones and Wellness is thriving. We have an outstanding Chief Operating Officer and together we have developed and are progressing nicely along a 3-year and 10-year plan. We market the practice extensively and develop content for our web site constantly. We are hiring our fourth provider on the way to 6 providers total by 2025. The demand for hormones, wellness and age management services in the Orlando area is so great that we just expanded to a huge 8,000 square foot facility. This is a 100% cash practice; we do not deal with insurance. This is an outstanding opportunity in a fantastic place to live.

Requirements

  • Must be open minded and willing to learn and practice evidence backed alternative medicine
  • Certified Nurse Practitioner preferred, will consider the right Physician Assistant
  • Functional Medicine Training is desired but not required
  • Prior Hormone Experience is desired but not required
  • Training with WorldLink Medical (Neal Rouzier) is desired but not required
  • Either has or is able to obtain a Florida License

Skills and Abilities

  • Assess and consult with patient: To generate comprehensive treatment plans; diagnose, treat, and assist patients to manage and therapeutically treat with the use of bio- identical hormone replacement therapy, nutritional program development, exercise, and nutritional supplements
  • Order and perform diagnostic tests

InShape Medical currently has an exciting opening for our Medical Director position. We are seeking a physician to join our growing clinic and help guide our mid-level staff in delivering integrative and holistic protocols to our patients. See below for a description of basic duties, as well as an amazing opportunity for growth for the right physician.

About InShape Medical

InShape Medical, located in Cary, NC, is seeking a Medical Director to join our team of health and wellness professionals. Established in 2012, InShape Medical is a growing functional medicine, anti-aging, weight loss, wellness, and nonsurgical aesthetics clinic.

The mission of our team is to guide patients to a better state of health and wellbeing through an integrative and holistic approach. Medically appropriate protocols and lifestyle interventions coupled with health and wellness coaching is central to that approach. The goal of positive patient experience and outcomes guides us in all that we do.

The basic roles of the Medical Director are listed below. However, this position offers many opportunities for the Medical Director beyond those basic responsibilities, including practice ownership. These additional opportunities will be discussed in detail with interested applicants.

Medical Director Role and Responsibilities

The medical director’s primary role is one of oversight and guidance for the clinic’s medical protocols, medical treatments, and mid-level staff. The medical director’s basic role does not include providing care directly to patients. However, as mentioned above, for a physician interested in a larger role, there is the opportunity to structure a role suited to the physician’s level of interest.

The basic role - primarily that of a consulting physician - will include the following:

  • Initial review of existing medical protocols and subsequent periodic reviews at the medical director’s discretion, as warranted (annual review minimally required)
  • Implementation of changes to protocols, based upon the medical director’s best judgement, to assure conformation with medical best practices
  • Meet monthly with mid-level staff for ongoing review of care provided. Discussion to include:

    – Clinical issues, including differential diagnosis, plan and disposition
    – Recommendations for improvement, as appropriate

  • Availability for occasional communication, as needed, with mid-level staff via text or phone to discuss:

    – Deviations from protocol or guidelines that may benefit the patient
    – Whenever clinical practice issues not covered by the physician supervisory agreement are encountered
    – Whenever there is an acute change in a patient’s condition which necessitates medical guidance.

Treatments and Procedures

The following treatments and procedures are primarily utilized by InShape Medical mid-level practitioners, nurses, and medical assistants, as appropriate according to established protocols:

  • Bio-identical hormone replacement therapies
  • Medical weight loss programs
  • IV micronutrient therapy
  • Aesthetics procedures of a non-surgical nature
  • Other treatment plans as deemed appropriate by the Medical Director

Compensation

Compensation will be determined by the level of involvement of the Medical Director. For questions about compensation, please email InShape Medical’s Executive Director, Dennis Owens at [email protected].

Remote Work, Hours Per Month, and Required Training

The Medical Director position can be remote and part time (with periodic visits to the clinic) and basic functions could be executed in as little as 4-5 hours per month. We would very much welcome a medical director that wants to be more involved as a strategic partner. This could mean treating patients at the clinic and otherwise helping to grow the practice, but this is not required.

The medical director does not have to be certified in functional medicine or aesthetic medicine. We will get training for the Medical Director where needed to properly supervise the services we offer at the clinic.

Requirements

Applicants must be an MD or DO licensed to practice in the state of North Carolina.

Application Deadline

Applicants must apply by April 15, 2021.

How to Apply

Please submit your cover letter and resume to [email protected]. For more information, interested physicians should contact InShape Medical’s Executive Director, Dennis Owens, by phone at 814-322-6259, or by email at [email protected].

Our Christian practice in Bakersfield, California, is the fourth largest direct primary care practice in America. We are seeking a younger doctor trained in functional medicine, for immediate employment and the unique opportunity of taking over this thriving practice when our founding doctor, Dr. Jan Mensink, retires in a few years. During full-time employment now, the candidate will be able to work closely with Dr. Mensink to learn the business aspects of the practice as well as growing in the functional medicine aspects, to be well prepared to take over as Dr. Mensink phases out.

The Practice provides primary care with a focus on functional medicine. We are passionate about optimizing health, not simply staving off disease. We seek to help patients holistically, including having a certified counselor in our office. Anti-aging medicine is a particular focus, including BHRT and vitamins and supplements.

Dr. Mensink established The Practice in 2010 with the vision of providing concierge medicine for the common man. The direct pay model we work on is a win-win for doctors and patients; it is very financially beneficial for both sides, and because doctors have time to do quality medical care, patients get healthier and doctors have greater job satisfaction. We have an excellent reputation in the community, spread through word-of-mouth testimonials of changed lives. The Practice is also well-known because of Dr. Mensink’s bi-weekly radio show. In addition, our patients benefit from our significant network of relationships with local physicians.

Benefits:

  • Excellent business opportunity to acquire a successful practice
  • Competitive salary, based on qualifications
  • On-the-job training opportunities in both functional medicine and business aspects of the practice
  • Positive, family atmosphere at the office, with good rapport between doctors, staff, and patients.
