KLOTHO SKIN is proud to introduce an innovative new skin care line. We have a patented process working with mesenchymal stem cells which we have genetically modified to upregulate the age suppressor gene Klotho, and successfully collect the klotho protein as well as second generation growth factors in the cell conditioned medium. This cell conditioned medium is the main ingredient in our face, eye serum and night crème (25,15, 10%).

The Klotho gene is the first documented aging suppressor gene in mammals that can delay aging when overexpressed and accelerate aging when disrupted. First discovered in a mouse strain, when the klotho gene was upregulated, the mouse lived 31% longer and all systems stayed younger. This is because on a cellular level the Klotho protein protects against oxidative stress.

Our first human clinical trials showed after using Klotho Skin for 3 months a 30% reduction in photodamage, improvement in wrinkles as well as texture. Out second clinical trial showed a 33% reduction in photodamag, 11% reduction in involved erythema, 27.5% reduction in wrinkles, 38.5% reduction in dyschromia, and a 18.14% reduction in involved melanin from baseline. Our cellular studies found that the addition of the Klotho protein to a cell line actually increased type 4 collagen after exposure to UVB insult. And after UVA irradiation, DNA damage was reduced by 40%. Further we found that exposing cells to the Klotho protein upregulated two other genes – SIRT6 and HERT, both of which are critical in telomere maintenance, and cellular life span extension. This makes it regenerative, protective, and preventative.
