Erin Amato, MD is an interventional psychiatrist, innovator, educator, and award-winning speaker. She is passionate about utilizing cutting-edge treatments for depression, anxiety, and other mood and cognitive disorders that have not responded to traditional interventions. She was the first physician to bring Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) and ketamine treatment for depression to Montana and Wyoming and has focused her practice on innovative and integrative treatments to help patients find hope and healing.

Her practice of psychiatry blends traditional and interventional approaches along with personalized medicine and lifestyle education that target the root causes of illness. She is a founding member of Montana Psychiatry & Brain Health Center in Billings, Montana. In 2020, she founded the Mood Restoration Institute whose mission is to help people achieve their best mood, memory, and brain health at any age through education and solutions that reach beyond the prescription pad.

Dr. Amato is double board certified in general and child and adolescent psychiatry through the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. She was named a Distinguished Fellow of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. She is board certified in anti-aging, metabolic, and functional Medicine through A4M. She was a graduate of the inaugural class of the Integrative Psychiatry Institute and earned certification in integrative psychiatry. She is also faculty for the IPI Ketamine Training Program and completed training in Ketamine and Psychedelic Medicine through the Psychedelic Research and Training Institute (PRATI). She currently serves on the board of the American Society of Ketamine Physicians, Psychotherapists and Practitioners (ASKP3).

Dr. Amato believes that early intervention is critical when people are affected by emotional, behavioral, cognitive, and learning disorders. An approach that focuses on mind, body, and lifestyle interventions that target the root causes of mood and cognitive disorders is essential for helping people achieve true mental health and well-being.
