A very long time ago I had the best care from an NP. Far superior to anything I had experienced growing up. She listened intently. She got to know ME. She identified why I had been so sick as a kid and identified that I was allergic to the environment, had both exercise induced and allergic asthma. With treatment it changed my life.
With over 20 years of clinical practice as an NP, I decided it was time for me to take a new approach to healthcare—one that puts patients first, without the constraints of insurance companies.
My goal is to educate and empower my clients to take control of their health with attentive care that is accessible, evidence based, and effective. We have a choice as to what our personal goals are rather than goals of an insurance company or organization. I have founded Integrated Wellness, Bangor. Having worked in Maine as an NP since 2002, I have experience both in inpatient and outpatient care. Cradle to grave nursing as an advanced practice nurse. In both settings I have found myself working endless hours to meet goals set by institutions to obtain reimbursement. Yet what patients tell me they truly desire is to know their provider is listening, respects their choices, and really cares. And all those hours I spent clicking boxes in a computer for reimbursement-as I grow old, I realize I am never ever getting that time back.
My practice is taking a different approach. The patient is setting the goals. This practice is an adjunct to primary care. I prefer you keep a primary care provider. I can help you navigate this challenging system. My focus is optimizing your health using a holistic approach focusing more on root cause. Focused care takes time.
