David Cadena, MD, CCMS, FAAFP, is a board-certified family medicine physician and assistant professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine at UT Health San Antonio. Dr. Cadena was born and raised in San Antonio, where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree at St. Mary’s University and then graduated from UT Health San Antonio Long School of Medicine. He completed his residency training at UT Health San Antonio, where he served as Chief Resident.
Dr. Cadena is a certified Culinary Medicine Specialist who has specialized knowledge in the implications of diet on overall health and on chronic diseases. He is passionate about primary care prevention, mental health, and office-based procedures.
Dr. Cadena has a great deal of experience in all facets of primary care leadership. He served as medical director of UT Health Shavano, UT Health Hill Country, and the UT Health Saturday Clinic.
