When I began to practice functional health and wellness it brought my pharmacy career full circle. During my 30 year career as a pharmacist I have witnessed the role that prescription medications play in the management of disease in patients. I was never satisfied with this model because I seldom saw the achievement of optimum health in my patients. Drugs helped patients to manage numbers and symptoms but where was the improvement in the quality of life? I became disillusioned with this path of allopathic medicine. I learned that diet and lifestyle education had to be part of the solution to health. That became my new passion. My journey took me to IAACN where I earned my Certified Clinical Nutrition designation in 2001. That was a turning point in how I viewed health and my role in supporting my patients with their health issues. I strongly believe that the body is designed to heal itself, given the right support. I am now very confident that I can help find the right support to guide patients toward optimum health. I opened Medicap Pharmacy in 2001 with an emphasis on patient care and never looked back. We are a retail pharmacy with a health and wellness focus. To support this effort, we carry a wide selection of professional supplements. We are also an accredited compounding pharmacy, specializing in hormones and other non-sterile preparations. I joined A4M in 2014 and continue studying and learning. My knowledge and practice have moved to a whole new level.
I now focus fulltime on performing health and wellness consultations. I began using BioMeridian as an energetic testing device in 2006. I have over 200 hours in advanced training in this area. This is the cornerstone of my consultation practice. I completed a Mastering Blood Chemistry course which deepened my understanding of the functional meaning of lab values.
