Advanced Hormone Dosing Protocol Workshop

Course Description Top

This interactive workshop conducted by internationally known hormone experts will teach the participant the ins and outs of prescribing female and male hormone protocols. The majority of the workshop will focus on dosing recommendations using various forms of BHRT for both men and women in all age groups. Dosing recommendations and protocols using many different patient scenarios will be discussed at length using a case history format. Furthermore, conversion from one dosing form to another will be elucidated such as oral to transdermal and transdermal to transvaginal. The participant will also learn how to convert patients that are on synthetic hormone replacement or oral contraceptives to bio-identical therapies.

Pre-requisite: A Metabolic & Functional Approach to Endocrinology

  • Learn how to prescribe natural hormones to patients that have not been on hormone replacement in peri-menopausal and menopausal women

Pamela W. Smith, MD, MPH, MS, spent her first twenty years of practice as an emergency room physician with the Detroit Medical Center and then the next eighteen years as an Anti-Aging/Functional Medicine specialist.  She is a diplomat of the Board of the American Academy of Anti-Aging Physicians and is an internationally known speaker and author on the subject of Metabolic, Anti-Aging and Functional Medicine. She also holds a Master’s in Public Health Degree along with a Master’s Degree in Metabolic and Nutritional Medicine. She has been featured on CNN, PBS, and many other television networks, has been interviewed in numerous consumer magazines, and has hosted two of her own radio shows. She is a regular contributor for Fox News Radio. Dr. Smith is currently the Director of the Center for Personalized Medicine and the founder of The Fellowship in Anti-Aging, Regenerative, and Functional Medicine. Dr. Smith is also the co-director of the Master’s Program in Metabolic and Nutritional Medicine at the Morsani College of Medicine, University of South Florida. Sahar Swidan, PharmD, BCPS, FMNM, ABAAHP, obtained her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Michigan and then she completed a 3 year research fellowship in Bio-Pharmaceutics at the University of Michigan.  She previously was the Director of Pharmacy at Chelsea Community Hospital and the clinical pharmacist for the inpatient head and chronic pain service.  Currently she is President & CEO of Pharmacy Solutions in Ann Arbor, MI which is a unique, personal and educational specialty pharmacy and Clinical Associate Professor of Pharmacy at the University of Michigan, College of Pharmacy.  Dr. Swidan is board certified and an advanced fellow in anti-aging and regenerative medicine.  Dr. Swidan is an internationally known speaker in the areas of pain management and BHRT and she has authored several books, articles and patient education material in the area of pain management and functional medicine.  Currently, she is completing a Master’s program in Cardio-Metabolic and Functional Medicine.

After obtaining her BA degree in Biology she went on to finish a master’ s in Public Health in the area of environmental health.
