Melissa Fleszar, DNP has over 25 years of nursing and advanced practice nursing in multiple areas of care throughout her career. Dr. Fleszar received her basic RN education and training in 1996 at West Shore College Ludington, Michigan. She then continued her education and earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Michigan State University in 1996. Dr. Melissa Fleszar attending the University of South Florida and received her Master of Science in Nursing in 2009 and became Board Certified in Family Practice. She earned a Doctorate degree from NOVA Southeastern University with emphasis in clinical practice nursing, specializing in sleep medicine, specifically didactics in prevention and early detection of Obstructive Sleep Apnea and treatment.
During the years of clinical practice specializing in Family Medicine, Dr. Fleszar continues to study evidence-based treatment to combat the growing burden of age-related diseases and improving the human health-span, practicing less on simply treating symptoms but rather delivering optimized clinical outcomes for patients of all ages and backgrounds.
Integrative Medicine (IM) is healing-oriented medicine that takes account of the whole person, including all aspects of lifestyle. It emphasizes the therapeutic relationship between practitioner and patient, is informed by evidence, and makes use of all appropriate therapies.
Melissa is certified and has extensive experience in the treatment of conditions known as “menopause, andropause and low libido”; and the multiple symptoms related to these issues. Your body’s hormones control most of your basic bodily functions. They serve as an internal communication system between cells throughout the body. They coordinate everything from digestion and growth to your appetite, immune function, mood, and libido. If hormones are out of balance, even slightly, it can have a big impact on your health and well-being. A simple combination of healthy nutrition and daily exercise with the additional treatment of menopause and andropause, using researched based bio-identical hormone replacement therapy, can improve optimal health for both men and women.
In doing so, Dr. Fleszar became a member of the American Academy of Anti-Aging medicine (A4M). Dr. Fleszar continues to practice family medicine through an advanced, integrative, systems-biology approach to care. She holds a national certification in Anti-Aging, Metabolic and Endocrine health and will receive a Fellowship in Anti-Aging medicine (FAAMM) in December 2021 with A4M with The George Washington University. On that premise, research based advanced education are founded on the principle that it is far better to prevent illness and build health than treat disease when it has already manifested.
Melissa is married and has two children. She is native Michigan but has lived all over the State of Florida for almost 20 years. Melissa enjoys lake living, boating and painting rocks for relaxation. Melissa live on a farm and has eight dogs, two exotic birds, three cats and three donkeys.
