D. Lindsey Berkson, MA, DC, CNS, DACBN, ACN is a known as a thought leader in functional medicine with an emphasis on hormones, nutrition, and digestion Berkson has been a distinguished scholar at an estrogen think tank from Tulane University, a best-selling author such as the first gut/body/mind/nutrition book (Healthy Digestion the Natural Way, Wiley, 1998) and the break through book on endocrine disrupting compounds (Hormone Deception, McGraw-Hill 2000).

Berkson has taught relicensing seminars to professionals (MDs, pharmacists, chiropractors, NDs, acupuncturists, nutritionists) as well as symposiums for the lay public for almost four decades.

Berkson designed the first female nutraceutical line for physicians in the US (Metagenics FEM LINE). She and Dr. J.V. Wright hold a patent on bioidentical hormones including their co-factor nutrients. Berkson has a masters in nutrition and three higher board certifications in nutrition. She started out as a functional medicine chiropractor with naturopathic training and developed into a researcher. She co-invented one of the first combination botanical/pharmaceutical drugs and has published peer review original research articles. Berkson is a fellow of the Health Sciences Collegium medical research institute. Her latest book is on intimacy and how our toxic environment is assaulting it, called SEXY BRAIN. Her new gut book for practitioners is called Nutritional Gastroenterology (Awakened Medicine Press).
