Raj Gupta, PhD - Chief Scientific Officer, Folium Biosciences

Dr. Raj Gupta is a pharmaceutical scientist, in charge of R&D, product development, and quality functions at Folium. Earlier in his career, he was the Senior Director of Technical Operations at Guthy-Renker (now Nestlé), overseeing product development and manufacturing, resulting in commercialization of billion dollar brands, such as, Proactiv+ and Meaningful Beauty. Prior to that, he was responsible for the product development of orphan drugs like Kuvan^® (sapropterin dihydrochloride), Firdapse^® (amifampridine), Aldurazyme^® (laronidase), and Naglazyme^® (galsulfase) at BioMarin Pharmaceutical as well as category-leading brands; Kingsford, Brita, Clorox, Hidden Valley, and Fresh Step Scoop at The Clorox Company.

Dr. Gupta has received a Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry and a M.B.A in Operations Management, both from University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and B.S./M.S. degrees from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur. Dr. Gupta has published multiple journal articles in the analytical chemistry and spectroscopy areas where his research results found applications in enhanced drug delivery into humans.
