Louis Cady, MD

Dr. Louis Cady straddles the world between science and art. Trained first as a classical pianist, he went on to obtain two degrees, with honors, from the Conservatory of Music of the University of Missouri at Kansas City, before obtaining his medical degree in 1989 from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas. He then trained in psychiatry at the world-famous Mayo Clinic, beginning his practice of child, adolescent, adult, and forensic psychiatry in Evansville, Indiana in 1993.

In addition to his conventional medical training in medicine and psychiatry, Dr. Cady has subsequently received additional training in Age Management Medicine from the Cenegenics Medical Institute in Las Vegas, Nevada, adding that modality into his practice.

Dr. Cady’s main clinical focus is not on just treating the psychiatrically ill back to health, but is increasingly devoted to helping children and adults achieve total wellness and optimum levels of performance through the integration of mind and body for peak performance, using all of the possible healing options in the scientific and medical literature. In the spring of 2005, and following these principles, Dr. Cady founded the Cady Wellness Institute, which opened in its new facilities in Evansville on July 1, 2005.

With his diverse background as a musician and as an entrepreneur, Dr. Cady has combined his life experiences in business and medicine to acquire cutting-edge marketing and positioning skills, making his independent practice of psychiatry and age management medicine a remarkable success in an era of pervasive managed care. He has published on the subject and lectures extensively on customer service and peak performance.

Dr. Cady is a highly sought after speaker for the pharmaceutical industry, particularly in his expertise in the treatment of ADHD, as well as severe and resistant depression. Audiences nationwide consistently rate him as one of the best speakers they have ever experienced. Reasons for the high ratings include the use of state-of-the-art presentation technology, high-quality visuals, the use of adult learning psychological principles, and a highly interactive and humorous presentation style which draws out the audience members and participants.

In addition to his professional practice of psychiatry and age management medicine, Dr. Cady has served as a monthly columnist for The Tri-State Journal, published book chapters in four books, one article on food allergy testing and ADHD, and is completing two books for publication. His chapter, “The Tools for Transformation” was the lead chapter in Transformational Leadership, released in 2005. He also serves as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Southern Indiana College of Nursing and Health Professions, and Adjunct Clinical Lecturer in Psychiatry at the Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis, IN. As a professional member of the National Speakers Association, Dr. Cady travels widely as a national presenter for numerous pharmaceutical companies. He has presented at national pharmaceutical conferences as well as professional societies and has served as an adviser, speaker, motivator, and consultant to many area and regional businesses.

In his spare time, he enjoys family activities, personal fitness and conditioning, chess, reading, practicing his piano and preparing new music repertoire, and his Macintosh computers.
